My life has been absolutely crazy! I can't believe I haven't blogged in over 3 weeks.
School and work are my life!
But today, me and E are taking a break from our busy lives and getting away! Thank you Jesus!
The bags are packed and we are heading to Longview for a four day vacation! Saturday we are heading to Dallas! I am so excited! And we are coming back just in time to catch some Mardi Gras festivities!
Today I launched a Facebook page! I am so excited to share all the knowledge I have inquired about fitness & holistic foods. While I love my blog, I wanted something were people could post their recipes and work outs to a page where everyone could be involved.
My main goal in creating this page is to have ONE place where people can find everything they need to be healthy. I have spent hours upon hours of research on the computer. I know for some people the information on working out and food can be incredibly overwhelming! It was for me at first! I hope that this page takes off and creates a place for motivation and ideas. I know it is hard, I know it is frustrating, but I also know that if someone gets support it becomes a lot less challenging.
I want to show people that eating healthy is delicious and adding a little movement to your daily routine makes you feel amazing.
So click on the link! You have nothing to lose. What can you gain though? A NEW YOU
Yep that it is! Fridayyyy! I have so many plans this weekend I just don't know if I will get around to blogging. But I HAVE to leave with some encouragement for the weekend!
Do not let your weekend make you lose track of your fitness and healthy lifestyle.
I admit sometimes I let my weekend interfere. It is just so easy to go out to eat, sit on the couch watching lifetime and do absolutely nothing. DO NOT DO IT!
In one weekend by not eating healthy or exercising, you can counteract all the work you put into this week. Get off the couch and go outside for a walk, play with the dog, anything to get you moving. And cook healthy!
I will leave you with a 4 minute work out video that is designed to boost your metabolism for 12-36 hours after you do it and can burn as many calories as a 40 min jog. I do this workout every morning just to get up and moving (get the blood flowing). But this is a great weekend mini workout just incase your schedule is packed and doesn't allow you to perform your normal workout routine.
Here is a recipe for my low calorie pasta.
Eric does not eat healthy at all..but he LOVES this stuff. He actually requests it often ;)
It is one of his favorite meals of mine.
Low Calorie Turkey Pasta
2 Turkey Breast (found near ground turkey it looks just like boneless skinless chicken but it is turkey)
1 can 98% fat free Campbells Cream of Chicken
1/2 can diced tomatoes with Garlic Basil & Oregano
1/2 Bell Pepper Seeded and Chopped
1/2 Onion chopped
1 Cup wheat Rotini noodles
Cut turkey breast into square bite size peices.
Spray a skillet with butter flavored cooking spray.
Put bell pepper and onion in the skillet and heat on medium heat until bell pepper and onion are transparent (about 5 minutes) stirring occasionally so they don't burn.
Put turkey breast in the skillet with the onion and bell pepper. While cooking season the turkey. ( I season with garlic powder, onion powder, lemon pepper, and cajun seasoning).
Cook turkey until all peices are white.
Put can of cream of chicken and half can of tomatoes in the skillet.
Fill the cream of chicken can halfway with water and pour in skillet also.
Cover skillet and let simmer for 20 minutes. Stirring occasionally. ( when finished turkey should be tender and cut easily with a fork and be white all the way through).
Cook noodles according to package and add to skillet for another 10 minutes.
And there you have it yummy, low calorie pasta! Pair it with a salad or wheat rolls :)
I cannot believe January is almost over. It seems like it just started.
The sad thing is that it doesn't even feel like winter in Louisiana. Almost everyday the temperature has been in the 70's. Today we are going to be in the 60's whoa hooo!
Idk about yall, but I am ALL about calendars. I love them. I just recently started a weekly binder (more about that soon) and I needed a calendar to put in the front. Sooooo I made one for February (since January is almost over).

It's Wednesday! We all know what that means, OH HOW PINTERESTING.
I have come to love this day. It's the one day I don't need to think about what my blog post is gonna be and it gives me a chance in the middle of the week to regroup to come up with more post. (this is more work than I though)
And I leave you with something to ponder on the next time you go through Mcdonalds..This is what your chicken nuggets look like before they become "chicken nuggets". If I were you, I would read this article
After almost a week not blogging (Oh my!), I am trying to get back on track. I have been completely consumed with work and school and work and school oh and work and school!
This weekend I became a lonely soul.
My bestfriend and love decided it was best that we part.
Left me there to start the search over for the perfect match.
There in Starbucks my world was shattered...
I found out Picnik was going to be no more!
WHAT THE HECK AM I GONNA DO?!
This has left me very confused and going on a frantic search for a photo editing program.
I have tried some editing programs online that are free and they are just NOT the same.
I guess I am a little stuck in my ways and do not want to let go of what I already know.
So I guess it is time to break down and get a photo editing program!
SW Louisiana has not had one. Yesterday the high was 75. Blech I want some cold winter. I want to travel somewhere with lots of snow and I want to bundle up next to a fire. So my hopes are that my winter pins will give mother nature a little hint!
And if you are lucky like me, it's a three day weekend!
No school, no work for three whole dayssssss! This weekend will be super busy for me though, so we will she how much of "nothing" I actually get to do.
But on to fitness! I find that the weekend is the toughest couple of days to get through when trying to stick to a healthy routine. For me, exercising is easier because on weekdays I go to school and work all day so when I get off at 5 I am pooped and just want to lay down (and the homework hasn't started yet, and when that happens..look out. I won't be the best example of exercising everyday). But on the weekends I get to take full advantage of the beautiful weather and get out there and run or something!
Eating, now that is a different story. There is just so many good things to eat on the weekend! Between football parties, going out to eat after church and just being at home more and having access to all kinds of snacks, it is difficult!
BUT I HAVE A SOLUTION!
A fittness and meal planner!
I LOVE THIS! I made it not to long ago, because I find that I eat better if I follow a list of what I am going to eat each day! On Sunday mornings, I sit down and map out my week (Sunday's are when I go grocery shopping). I even plan out my "cheat meal" so I don't go overboard. Sometimes I have to make some unexpected modifications (if we go out to eat but I'll get a salad). I plan all my meals out so that they stay in my calories for the day!
