Jewelry and Scarf Hanger!

Not too long ago I saw a jewelry organizer I wanted to make on Pinterest. So I headed to Hobby Lobby to get the stuff to make it. Well I went in the total opposite direction of what I was going to make. I started seeing all these cool racks and an idea popped into my head (these don't happen often so I had to seize the moment). Not to mention EVERYTHING was on sale that day. So I did not pay full price for any of it! Boy did I pick a good day to go!

This is all the things I bought.

Bathroom Rack- 50.00 15.00
Wicker Storage Boxes- 3.99 1.00 each
Fabric (1/2 a yard)- 3.00  1.50
Initial Bucket- 5.00 .50

Total= 18.00 (OMGSH!!!)

First, I unscrewed the wooden selves from the iron. (It was simple. I made sure they were unscrew-able before I bought them)

Then, me and Eric cut out the fabric (we cut ours like wrapping paper enough to cover the board). Then we used a staple gun and stapled the fabric to the board. E got a little happy with the staple gun. I don't think that fabric is going anywhere..

We screwed the boards back in position and voila. You have a simple, fabulous jewelry holder.

I love it!

I put my rings in the bucket. (aww look at our first picture together. Hard to believe it was over a year ago! Time flys)

I cut off the lids on the wicker baskets and put my bracelets in them (I didn't want to have to pull the baskets out and open the lid..yea I am lazy)

I also decided to hang my scarves. (Basically I just decided to do all kinds of stuff to my room). I got a 9.00 copper towel rack from Walmart and my lovely boyfriend hung it. It took him over 20 minutes because he was so precise with it..he even brought out the leveler.

I just had to take a picture of this. This is my Bath and Body Works collection. This is all the things I have accumulated since I started working there over 3 years ago. Oh the perks ;) I call it my birthday self..anytime it's someones birthday you can BET their gift is coming from Bath and Body Works.

Eric also did a great job hanging our pictures! I got the picture frames as a set for Christmas! And it was PERFECT for our pictures!

We spent all day hanging stuff in my room. It was a blast. I can't wait to be able to decorate our own house!

Photo shoot with a Bea-utiful Family!

Recently, I have really been getting into photography (thanks to Eric's talented sister Shayna).
Yesterday I had the privilege to photograph a beautiful family. I never thought photographing children would be so darn complicated then multiply that times 3. Yes three. They were very cooperative at first. Then after a while the fun began. So we started bribing them with snacks and everything we could think of. I think I took around 200 pictures and only 40 came out usable. One would always look away or be talking! But all in all it was a very fun day and I think I did pretty well for my first family ;)

These are a few of my favorite shots! I hope I will get to do this more often! I really enjoyed it!

Fit Resolution

Hap-Happyyyyy New Year!

Whoaa! 2011 flew by! I am ready to tackle 2012 head on! There is something so refreshing about a new year. Today I did so much cleaning and me and E did a couple of projects (those will come later). Among many of my New Years resolutions is the ever so popular "get fit". Two years ago I made that as my New Years resolution and thirty pounds later I am taking it a step further! I am eating organic (as much as our grocery store allows) and I am going to make a commitment to be as dedicated to fitness as I used to be.

Pretty sure EVERYBODY wants to look like this.  Well in my long (never ending) journey of fitness I have learned a lot.

First off, the key of fitness and getting healthy is, if you don't WANT it, you WON'T get it.

motivation

Second, water seriously is your best friend! Drink it....all the time.
Water!

Third, come up with a plan. Give yourself goals. You are more likely to stick to your goals if it is written down and you set deadlines.

Goals

Fourth, use websites like MyFitnessPal to keep track of calories eaten and much more. ( I love love love this website! It is super easy and fast to input your information! It also comes as an app that is just as easy for people on the go. You put in your weight and goal weight, and it figures out how many calories you should eat a day and breaks down amount of carbs, sugars, and fat you should also be eating.

Fifth, find a work out routine you like. I lost all my weight simply by running a mile a day. The more I went to the gym to run, the more I tried new machines and it starting to become fun. I also did a lot of workout videos. Just spice it up! Don't do the same routine every single day, your body becomes a custom to it and it begins to become less effective.

The Gym.

Sixth, allow yourself to cheat every now and then.. You are WAY more likely to binge on foods you are craving if you never eat them. If you have a craving for something eat a tiny portion in order to feed your craving. Doing this keeps you from purging. I allow my self one day a week to eat whatever I want. I still tried to keep it semi healthy because you can mess up your whole week of working out.

Junk food

I could go on and on and on. Maybe I should have started a fitness blog ;) But seriously, there is so much information out there you just need to read and find out what works best for your body and just keep remembering why you are working out. When I first started it was about being skinnier, but as I continued it was more about the way it made me feel. Not eating junk food and working out gave me more energy and kept my immune system up. When I would eat junk food, it would literally make me sick because my body had learned to not like it. The hardest part is the first few months. Just keep pushing and never give up!

Happy New Year ;)
